Literary Planet was created and will continue to be updated regularly to inform Canadians of local literary events and news updates as well as offer resources and tools for aspiring Canadian writers.  Literary Planet is based in Canada and contains a great deal of Canadian content but is not just for Canadians, I have also included resources and news for other parts of North America as well as some international links and resources.

Canada-Japan Literary Awards - Recognizes literary excellence by Canadian writers who are writing on Japan, Japanese themes, or themes that promote mutual understanding between Japan and Canada or by Canadian translators of such books from Japanese in English or French.

CBC Literary Awards - These awards give writers high visibility with intelligent Canadian readers from coast to coast.

Governor General's Literary Award - Canada's national literary award

The Sunburst Award - Based on excellence of writing in two categories: adult and young adult.

Arthur Ellis Awards - Canadian crime and mystery writers

Man Booker Prize - Best original full-length novel

Edna Staebler Award - Awarded annually in Canada for best work of creative nonfiction.

Geoffrey Bilson Award - A Canadian literature award for best work of historical fiction written for youth.

Gerald Lampert Award - To the best volume of poetry published by a first-time poet.

Griffin Poetry Prize - Canada's most generous poetry award.

Norma Fleck Award - For Canadian children's non-fiction

Writers' Trust Notable Author Award - Canadian literature award presented to an established Canadian author to honor their work.

Pat Lowther Award - Awarded to the best book of poetry by a Canadian woman.

Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour - Presented to the best work of humorous literature.

Scotiabank Giller Prize - Awarded to Canadian author of a novel or short story fiction.

Doug Wright Award - Presented to Canadian Cartoonists
